In November 2009, we fell in love with the world just as this birthday girl had. The venue, Cipriani 42nd street, was transformed into a celebration of diverse cultures, guiding guests through international destinations. Our work showcased custom props and furniture, as well as personalized features evoking this teen’s passion for travel.

Unique Bar Mitzvah Centerpieces for an Autism-Friendly Event • Favorite Things Theme • Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, New Brunswick, NJ

We've done creative Bar Mitzvah centerpieces for many years for a variety of themes. We often create centerpieces for a "Favorite Things" theme, where each table reflects a hobby or interest of the celebrant.

For this event, we had a fun and challenging opportunity to make centerpieces for a very sweet boy with autism. He has a diverse set of hobbies and favorite things, including travel, chocolate, gymnastics, penguins, Dr. Seuss, and much more.

We learned a lot about designing decor and lighting for an autism-friendly event. Here are some key points that made this event a success:

• Light Levels: The overall light level in the room should not be too low. We used colored uplighting around the room to introduce color, and pin spotting to highlight the centerpieces. We also used the in-house lighting, which was dimmable, to create a light level that's comfortable but not too bright.

• Kinetic Elements: Each centerpiece should be safe to touch and interact with. When children communicate less verbally, they experience things more kinetically. We chose elements that were safe to touch and play with, and included moving parts to make the centerpieces more experiential. The guests loved walking around each table, taking in the details that make each centerpiece special.

• Color and Variety: We used a wide variety of colors to make the tabletops festive and fun, and more appealing to children. Traditional centerpieces are often very cohesive, and we went in the opposite direction to make them as individually unique as possible.

• Creativity: His interests were not only unique, but also very specific. For example, he loves one specific type of interactive fountains. They're the kind you find at boardwalk amusement areas where water comes up from holes in the ground. We used a variety of materials to convey this concept without using water. We thoroughly enjoyed finding ways to visually represent these interests.

We so enjoyed the opportunity to create such meaningful decor to celebrate a family's very special day. We look forward to participating in autism-friendly events in the future.

Cats are the mitzvah boy's favorite animals, so we created a playful "cats in a tree" centerpiece

The guest of honor loves chocolate, specifically nonpareils, also known as Sno-Caps. We had lots of fun creating custom extra-large nonpareils to represent his favorite candy.

This fun glowing lantern, combined with images and figurines, represented Dr. Seuss, the celebrant's favorite author

Large penguins and tiny penguins on a snowy mountain created a fun centerpiece that guests can touch and play with

The family had recently taken a safari trip, so we gathered our safari animals to represent their vacation experience.

This interactive basketball centerpiece has a rotating foundation with four mini basketball games for guests to play. The guest of honor loves basketball, but it was emphasized that he loves playing it, not watching it on TV. We made sure that this centerpiece reflected that.

We captured the motion of a tennis ball by creating a 3D tennis ball sculpture, complete with rackets as accents

Horton is one of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, so we included him in our Dr. Seuss themed centerpiece

A Peek Behind the Scenes at Three Fabulous Tented Weddings • Wedding Planner Magazine

Eggsotic Events partnered with Marie Danielle Vil-Young of A Votre Service Events to create a gorgeous tent atmosphere for a wedding at a farm in Bordentown, New Jersey. Eggsotic provided uplighting, band/stage lighting, ceiling wash lighting, draping, and a ceiling installation with hundreds of LED candles and lanterns. New York City Meets Las Vegas Marriage Proposal by The Yes Girls

Eggsotic Events provided our Eiffel Tower and uplighting at GoldBar in NYC for a marriage proposal planned by The Yes Girls. The Yes Girls are a group of planners who specialize in one-of-a-kind marriage proposals. Kishan and Merisa's love story involved meeting in Las Vegas, so the Eiffel Tower was chosen to represent Paris Las Vegas' iconic tower replica. Merisa said yes! Modern Candy Theme Sweet Sixteen at Vegas NJ • Randolph, NJ

A few years ago, we transformed the ballroom at Dolce Basking Ridge into a Four Seasons themed cocktail party, complete with draping, lighting, and ceiling decor for Maddie's Sweet Sixteen. This year, Maddie's younger sister Sophie turned sixteen, so it was time for another gorgeous room transformation.

Sophie and her family selected Vegas NJ, a new venue in Randolph that features modern lighting and lounge furniture. Eggsotic Events created the room layout, and added beautiful lighting, custom decor, and glowing furniture to create a night club feel with a candy theme throughout. We also created two custom sculptures of giant lollipops to act as bar decor.

Our custom canvas wraps with pin spotting created large artwork features throughout the room, and our glowing acrylic tables and pedestals reinforced the party's color scheme.

We were also joined by Hollywood Candy Girls, who created candy centerpieces and a custom candy buffet, and by Carlo's Bake Shop, who created a tiered candy-themed cake.

Super Bowl XLVIII Comes to NJ/NY: Club Primesport's VIP New York Pre-Game Experience • Moonachie, New Jersey

Eggsotic Events was chosen to provide event design, lighting and decor services for one of the hottest events surrounding Super Bowl XLVII, a VIP pre-game party with over 1100 guests.

Club Primesport's New York Pre-Game Experience was hosted by Tiki Barber, Jerry Rice, Eli Manning, and Bonnie Bernstein. 

Eggsotic Events provided lighting, props, custom artwork, custom draping, comprehensive CAD site plans, and full installation and takedown services.

Primesport and Eggsotic Events teamed up to completely transform The Graycliff in Moonachie, New Jersey into a series of unique event spaces. Each room within the party had its own theme, unified by the New York experience overall theme.

Great Gatsby Office Transformation • Union County, New Jersey

We love the recent Great Gatsby theme decor trend, and we have a large collection of props and decor elements that are perfect for a Great Gatsby, art deco, 1920s, or speakeasy theme party.

Here is a recent transformation of an under-construction raw office space:

Before:

Before: Unappealing lighting, a large window wall with an undesirable view, a concrete floor, and an unfinished ceiling.

After:

After: Blackout draping to hide the window wall, metallic gold draping as an accent wall, a champagne tower with pin spotting, LED colored downlighting, gold lame linens, and majesty palm trees.

We combined art deco decor elements with modern lighting technologies to transform this drab office into a Great Gatsby era experience.

Creative use of downlighting draws attention away from the unfinished ceiling, while draping and art deco decor elements create new focal points.

Acrylic crystal chandeliers act as room decor and floating centerpieces. LED uplighting in fuchsia and green added bold color to plain white walls. 

Metallic fringe draping, shown here in gold, is also available in many other colors and heights. It's perfect for a photo backdrop. It is displayed using our freestanding support hardware, so nothing is attached to the venue's walls or ceilings.

Putting the food station in the center of the room creates a gorgeous focal point. It also encourages guest flow throughout the space, making it perfect for a cocktail format party.

NYC Theme Bar Mitzvah at Brooklake Country Club

For our first bar mitzvah of 2013, we were asked to create centerpieces based on New York City's cultural landmarks. The mitzvah honoree is very involved in the arts, so we emphasized art culture throughout the decor.

We featured iconic films such as King Kong, famous places such as The High Line and Broadway, and classic events such as Tribeca Film Festival.

Every centerpiece was completely unique in style and composition. The eclectic mix created a sense of an art gallery displayed throughout the 22 tables.

​Our client wanted street food to be represented in one of the tables. We used our giant hamburger, along with images of street food carts and fresh food accents.

These famous coffee cups are all but extinct now in NYC, but we found them and built a tower of them. We also illuminated one of our cube foundations with blue LEDs and added images.

​For our Little Italy centerpiece, we featured carved wood candle holders, an assortment of preserved and prop foods, fresh pasta, and images of Little Italy. We even included Egil's favorite: lots of fresh garlic.
